In the second derby of the season, ReUnited had a more comfortable time than their 1-0 win in the Autumn. A whole winter has passed in that time and we are revitalised for our final push for the title.
The game was played in glorious sunshine and as is so often in our matches the early exchanges were quite equal before our attacking power slowly started to tell. Clear cut chances were few and far between in the first quarter as Nick dragged one shot wide after a great run for 3U and Sascha hit the post for us after a scramble in the box.
We were starting to pressurize better and keeping 3U penned back when Alex went on a run which resulted in a possible own goal. It was to be a recurring theme of the day as 3U had two more in the second half.
The scoring was completed by a Sascha (man of the match in his last game) penalty and a close range finish from Adam after a fine run from Steve down the right.
We now have three games left, and three wins will see us take the title, starting with a tough game next week against Azzurri when we will again have to be at our best.
Good luck in Germany Sascha, you will be missed!
