ReUnited went back to winning ways with a comfortable win over ten man Oranje. With the Shooters drawing against Azzurri it means the fate of the league title is back in our hands and there is everything to play for again.
The game started tight but there was a sense of comfort throughout and it was no surprise when we went ahead early on as Adam, returning from his long break, shot in at the near post.
The pivotal point of the match followed as we attacked dangerously and were denied a certain goal by an Oranje defender clawing the ball out from the line. He was sent off and Sascha again coolly converted the penalty. Consequently we went into the break in a comfortable position.
Sixty or so minutes of football with ten men was always going to be a struggle for the Dutch and so it proved as we slowly but surely accumulated goals. Mandela converted a penalty after a great bit of skill from Johnson on the wing and the Dutch started to lose their spirit completely.
Sascha and Adam both completed their braces and Steve got one of his own, with a long shot from Ronald somewhere in the mix as well. So it was a comfortable afternoon in the early spring sunshine and a day when the hopes of the season where reignited. Many thanks Azzurri!
