ReUnited dominated from the start and created several good chances but missed to convert them all. Azzurri played dangerous counter attacks but the teams went into half time with a 0:0. Second half started the same way but as time went on and ReU’s midfield grew tired Azzurri got more of the game. Since ReU’s strikers couldn’t put the ball into the net, former U19 Bundesliga defender Maximilian Priebe went up and headed a long free kick over the arms of Azzurri keeper Alexendre Dai Zhao into the goal.
10 minutes later Azzurri answered with a counter attack finished with a long lob by Adam Kluger over ReUnited keeper Stephen Rowland who had come out of his goal a bit too far. With less than 20 minutes to play ReU tried everything but the ball didn’t want to find it’s way into the net. 3 minutes to the end it needed another standard situation when it was man of the match Max Priebe again who scored the winning goal with a powerful header from a Chris Steen corner.
3United was able to score 4 times against the Sauerkrauts and started with a 4:0 into the season.
