ReUnited continued their great start to the season with our sixth win in seven games. It means we go into the Christmas break still unbeaten in all competitions.

It was a testing game in which we made life harder for ourselves than we might of. The first half was a close affair when we only managed to open the Italian team up once when Mandela ran through their defence and then shot over the crossbar.

We picked up our tempo in the second half and deservedly went ahead when Miles went on a great run on the right wing before cutting a cross to the front post that Eitel headed in.
After that the game seemed quite stable until Will put a cross into his own net with Cody stranded. We responded well though and our attack started carving out more and more chances but with Azzurri’s goalkeeper in fine form the second goal was proving elusive.

When he was beaten the goal-frame came to the Italian team’s rescue as Mandela slammed a shot against the cross bar with the ball maybe bouncing over the line before it came out.
Finally, we got our reward when Adam powered in a shot and after that we were never under too much pressure. We can enjoy our Christmas breaks knowing we have made a strong start to the season and the foundations for another tilt at the title have been laid.
