3United faced off against Japan on an overcast Saturday hoping to build some momentum before the winter months arrive, but it didn’t seem to be in the cards for this weekend.

From the start, Japan dominated the play. 3U had a few personnel changes in the starting line-up and struggled to really find a rhythm in the game. 3United lost a few balls near the halfway line and Japan made them pay dearly, scoring 3 goals in quick succession around the 15 minute marker. Japan continued their clinical and driven performance on the 3U midfield and defense and was able to net 1 more before the end of the half. 3U scraped together a few attacks on goal but it was to no avail, the half ended 0-4 to Japan.

The second half saw a much better performance on the whole from the 3United side but the first half battering clearly had an effect on their spirit. Even though they were able to create 5 or 6 chances on goal, they were unable to put one away and really test the Japan defense. On the other end of the field, the 3United defense stepped up and was able to keep Japan at bay for the final 45 minutes. Neither side was able to put any additional points on the board the second half, with Japan earning a well-deserved 0-4 win over 3United.

3United man of the match honors went to forward, Nick Law.
