3United faced off against the Cosmos on a wet, cold and muddy Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Hebiguchi Cup. After having lost 3 league games in a row, 3U came out with a point to prove and they didn’t disappoint.

From the get go, 3United dominated the game but by no means was it easy. Battles were fought from one puddle to another but on 90% of them 3United found a way gain the advantage. Their efforts paid off when Nick Law received a ball on the left wing deep in the Cosmos half. He took a looping cross-shot on goal throwing the keeper off his line as it squeaked into goal past the looking defenders. The first half finished 1-0, 3United.

The second half saw a little more of an attacking side from the Cosmos with the midfield and strikers managing to put a few shots on goal but all were cleanly saved by the 3U keeper. To solidify their win, Serge Mbougo received a ball at the top of box, dribbled two defenders and whacked a shot into the corner of the net. The game ended 2-0 to 3United allowing them to proceed to the next round of the Hebiguchi Cup.
