ReUnited continued their perfect start to the season with a resounding win in the Hebiguchi Cup. With a good record in this tournament over the past couple of years we were anxious to start it with a win.
The early exchanges were quite equal before a driving run Lucas was curtailed by a foul in the penalty area. Tobi stepped up to take the spot kick and coolly slotted it in. From then on we were in control and started to create clear chances that weren’t always taken.
It looked very comfortable for us approaching halftime but HFC stole a goal back when their dangerous left winger cut in and hit a shot past Cody from the edge of the area.
This might have made things uncomfortable in the second half but we replied immediately after halftime when Sascha followed up a saved shot from Adam to make it 3-1.
The second half then became something of parade with Adam, Lucas and Tobi adding further goals as it progressed. Tobi in particular had an eventful day; scoring a hat-trick and hitting the post twice and the bar once.
So we go onto the next round, full of confidence and in a good shape! Re-Uuuuuuuuunited!
