3United faced the Puxi Lions in the semifinals of the SIFL Cup on Saturday the 18th. The Lions, who sit comfortably at the top of the premier division, have proven their skills and teamwork, making this the toughest challenge 3U has ever faced in a competitive game.
The final score ended 1-5 to the Lions but was not reflective of the effort and battle that 3United put up against them. The team gave a full team effort and tried to challenge the Lions on every play. Regardless if it was defending the Lion’s full-on attack or pushing up as a team to launch an attack on goal, 3United showed they have the heart and the sportsmanship to compete. 3United were able to match the Lion’s chances on goal, but were unable to convert the 6 or 7 chances. But it was the Lion’s clinical play that triumphed this day and proved with their skill why they lead the premier league. Oraz Arslanow was the lone scorer for 3United and Vernon Tebong Mbah had the honors of man of the match.
The SIFL cup run is something all of us should be proud of and let’s look to keep up this intensity and teamwork in every game that we play. Cheers to all our brothers who’ve sweated and bled for the ReU club!
